Process can get a bad rap. It’s at the centre of how business functions but it’s often clouded in a haze of complexity with bits tacked on to “fix” something that has long been forgotten and may no longer be needed. Changing anything can often be fraught with unforeseen problems and is often thought to be too difficult.

Anytime can be a good time for reflection and for getting back to basics. There are many good books on the market about the practice of process design and improvement. Out of necessity they can be quite complex and so I’ve put together some simple but important points to remember, when embarking on a project.
